Harambee Starlets Head to Zambia Ahead of WAFCON 2026

The Kenya national women's football team, the Harambee Starlets, has departed for Lusaka, Zambia, to compete in the upcoming Four Nations FIFA Tournament starting June 6, 2026. Head coach Beldine Odemba is utilizing this high-stakes invitational tournament—which features hosts Zambia, Zimbabwe, and Burkina Faso—as critical preparation to sharpen the squad for the upcoming Women's Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON) in Morocco. Despite aiming to build momentum for a future FIFA Women's World Cup qualification, the team faces significant squad setbacks. They will be without Romanian-based goalkeeper Lilian Awuor and defender Enez Mango due to travel permit delays, alongside additional selection hurdles following a club-versus-country dispute with Tanzania's Simba Queens.
