KNEC Issues July 30 Deadline for Grade 10 CBA Registration, with all schools required to complete the exercise by July 30, 2026.
The registration marks a significant milestone for the pioneer cohort of learners transitioning to senior school under the Competency-Based Curriculum (CBC).
In a notice to school principals and Heads of Institutions (HoIs), KNEC directed all schools to access the registration portal using the new universal centre code issued during the senior school centre registration process. The code will serve as both the username and password for logging into the system.
School heads have also been instructed to register learners using the Assessment Numbers issued to them in Grade 3. The unique identification numbers will continue tracking learners' academic progress through to Grade 12.
KNEC further stated that all learners must have their Kenya Junior School Education Assessment (KJSEA) performance reports before registration. The reports should be downloaded and officially stamped by the learners' former junior schools.
The council emphasized that the School-Based Assessments (SBAs) undertaken in Grade 10 will contribute to learners' final Kenya Certificate of Basic Education (KCBE) grades at the end of Grade 12.
Practical and project-based assessment tools became available on the CBA portal on July 2, 2026, with schools expected to score and upload learners' results by October 31, 2026. Written Grade 10 assessments are scheduled for Term Three.
