Professor Eng. Ayub Njoroge Gitau has officially assumed office as the ninth Vice-Chancellor of the University of Nairobi, pledging to restore stability and unity after years of institutional challenges.
Speaking after taking over the leadership of the university, Prof. Gitau said his administration will prioritize staff cohesion, address long-standing promotion backlogs, strengthen the institution's financial position, and enhance postgraduate research.
He acknowledged that the university has endured more than a decade of governance and financial difficulties and pledged to work with all stakeholders to rebuild confidence and improve academic excellence.
