Ten students from Alliance High School have been arrested following a fire outbreak that destroyed a mattress and blanket storage facility within the school compound, prompting the institution's indefinite closure.

According to investigators, CCTV footage captured two students entering an old dormitory store at approximately 4:00 a.m. on Thursday, June 4, before allegedly setting fire to the facility. The remaining eight students were detained for allegedly colluding in the planning and execution of the incident.

Preliminary investigations indicate that the suspects had been agitating over their continued stay in school and may have coordinated the unrest with individuals outside the institution. Detectives are pursuing leads suggesting communication between the students and external parties before the incident occurred.

Authorities further revealed that the fire was preceded by acts of indiscipline earlier in the day, during which students allegedly interfered with power and lighting systems across four classrooms.

School administrators have confirmed that no injuries were reported and all students were safely accounted for. Board of Management Chairperson Sam Ncheeri and Principal David Chomba assured parents and the public that the situation was brought under control before it could spread to occupied facilities.

Following the incident, parents were instructed to collect their children immediately as management announced the indefinite closure of the school to allow investigations and assessment of the damage.
