Youth Affairs Principal Secretary Fikirini Jacobs on Thursday presented himself to detectives at the Nairobi Regional Criminal Investigation Headquarters to record a statement in connection with investigations into the fatal shooting of youth mobiliser Cecil Ouma.
Speaking outside the offices after meeting investigators, Jacobs said he had voluntarily cooperated with detectives and would continue to support the ongoing investigation.
The Principal Secretary expressed his condolences to the family and friends of Cecil Ouma, describing the incident as a tragic loss that should never have occurred.
Jacobs emphasized the importance of allowing investigators to establish the facts surrounding the shooting and pledged to comply with any further requests from law enforcement agencies as the inquiry progresses.
The circumstances surrounding Ouma's death remain under investigation, with detectives continuing to gather statements and other evidence as part of efforts to determine what transpired.
