The Edwin Sifuna-led Linda Mwananchi faction of the Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) has unveiled an ambitious strategy to expand its political influence beyond traditional party strongholds, with a major focus on the vote-rich Mt. Kenya region ahead of the 2027 General Election.

The faction is set to launch its first major political engagement in Central Kenya on June 14, 2026, beginning with a church service in Kiambu County before proceeding to public rallies in Thika and Gatundu South. Organizers say the events are part of a broader effort to build a national political movement capable of attracting support from regions historically considered outside ODM's core base.

The planned outreach marks a significant shift in strategy for the group, which is seeking to position itself as a national alternative by appealing to voters across diverse political and ethnic backgrounds.

Beyond Mt. Kenya, the faction has lined up political engagements in several other regions, including Eldoret, Garissa, Marsabit, Isiolo, and Meru. The move is aimed at broadening its reach and cultivating support in areas that have traditionally been dominated by rival political formations.

To coordinate the nationwide campaign, the faction has established a think-tank secretariat under the leadership of Vihiga Senator Godfrey Osotsi. The secretariat will oversee resource mobilization, regional policy mapping, and the development of tailored messages designed to address local concerns and priorities.
